A Brazilian goes viral for his “Jugaad” on the internet. He used parts from scrapped cars to build a helicopter that actually flies!
In a video that went viral on social media, a dingy chopper made from discarded auto parts allegedly powered by a Volkswagen Beetle engine was seen. According to local Caico news agency, it was designed and manufactured by a resident of the city of João Dias, who wanted to fly a helicopter and never made it, so decided to build his own plane.
People were seen gathering on the street that the talented man used as a walking path to fly his plane and everyone was thrilled to see the amazing sight.
The man, identified by G1 Globo as Genesis Gomes, said he had been interested in aviation since childhood and everyone in his town knows him because of a plane parked in front of his house. However, the one he recently had on board that went viral wasn’t built by him, he clarified.
“There was the gyroscope of a friend of mine from Catolé do Rocha, Paraíba. It was the first time. We flew over the city of João Dias very high. It was really good, ”he said. The flight took place at an aviation event in the city of Paraíba, where he was invited to exhibit the aircraft.
“The aircraft’s engine comes from a Volkswagen Beetle, but there are also motorcycle, truck, car and bicycle parts. Bought all materials in scrap metal. Even the tap in the mother’s house became a piece for the plane, ”the report said.
Although he has not yet been able to fly his own airplane, he has taken on many suggestions from people he met at the aviation event and promises to work on his design to make his dream of owning his own chopper come true one day.
