Volkswagen Polo Facelift 2022 in Australia due in March
The updated Volkswagen Polo will hit Australia in March, with more tech and a new look – but price increases are likely.
the Facelift 2022 Volkswagen Polo should arrive in Australian showrooms in March next year, which brings new styling and technology to the brand’s city car range.
Introduced as standard in April, followed by the hot GTI in July, the updated Polo will arrive in the local Volkswagen showrooms in March 2022 with a similar range as today (and unchanged engines) 70TSI, Middle class 85TSI and sporty GTI.
All three engines will hit the market at the same time – meaning the GTI will arrive earlier than expected, given the Polo GTI’s April-June 2022 arrival time, which was announced when it was launched earlier this year.
The 70TSI and 85TSI will continue to be used 70kW / 175Nm and 85kW / 200Nm Melodies of a common 1.0-liter turbo three-cylinder engine, paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a seven-speed dual clutch transmission (DSG) in the former, the latter upgrading the manual to a six-speed transmission.
In the meantime, the GTI retains the 147 kW / 320 Nm 2.0-liter petrol four-cylinder with turbocharger and the six-speed dual clutch automatic of the current car – with 152 kW / 320 Nm, seven-speed DSG and 6.5 seconds 0. two tenths faster -100km / h time remains exclusively for Europe for the time being.
As reported, the updates to the redesigned Polo begin with a redesigned exterior with a new front section with standard LED headlights (or optional matrix LEDs) and a full-width light bar, newly shaped taillights, optimized bumper designs and new alloy wheels.
Inside, the flagship variants have a 9.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as well as a portable digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster, a new touch-based climate control panel for 2022 and a leather-covered version of the latest steering wheel designs from Volkswagen.
Safety has been improved with Volkswagen’s semi-autonomous Travel Assist system, which enables the vehicle to accelerate at up to 210 km / h on motorways, brake and center itself within its lane by using adaptive cruise control and lane following assist combined.
The safety and driver assistance technology has also been expanded with Volkswagen Travel Assist, which combines adaptive cruise control and the lane alignment assistant to accelerate, brake and center the Polo up to a speed of 210 km / h within the lane.
The prices for the Volkswagen Polo 2022 range will be published shortly before the local market launch in March 2022. However, expect an increase from today’s range, which goes from $ 19,290 before road cost for the entry-level 70TSI Trendline manual to $ 32,890 before road cost (and option packs) for the flagship GTI.
