Law360, London (July 23, 2021 6:52 p.m. BST) – The UK Supreme Court on Friday called on Parliament to close a loophole in the law that gives the UK courts an inherent oversight role over lawyers but unregistered law firms.

The concern arose over a case involving a non-compete agreement that was inked by a consumer litigation law firm dealing with Volkswagen emissions claims and signed by an attorney from a competing law firm, which subsequently became a issued its own class action lawsuit over the scandal.
