RICHFIELD, Ohio — Volkswagen of America Inc. has selected two sizes of the Nexen N’Fera AU7 ultra-high performance all-season tire as OE fitment for the 2022 VW Jetta for the US market.

The seventh generation Jetta features an updated engine lineup and exterior design with robust improvements in performance and technology, according to Nexen Tire USA Inc.

The Jetta’s N’Fera trim levels are 205/60R16H and 205/55R17H, depending on the trim level. According to VW, the Jetta S comes standard with 205/60R16 tires on two-tone aluminum wheels, while the Jetta Sport, SE and SEL models come sized 205/55R17 on wheels styled for each trim level.

The four-door, five-passenger Jetta sedan debuted in 1979 and is Volkswagen’s best-selling sedan.

Nexen describes the N’Fera AU7 as an all-season premium UHP tire engineered to provide “excellent” driving performance in a variety of weather and road conditions, along with design technology that reduces noise and vibration compared to existing products reduced.

The tire is rated H, W, or Y speed depending on size.

“As we continue to add new and diverse OE applications to our supplier portfolio, we reaffirm our goal to become one of the top 10 tire manufacturers in the world by 2025,” said Brian YoonSeok Han, CEO of Nexen Tire USA.

The N’Fera AU7 has some of the highest ratings for comfort, handling, braking, fuel efficiency and tread wear in Nexen’s product line. The tire was “bred to complement sports cars, luxury coupes and high-performance sedans that require excellent year-round traction in dry and wet conditions,” according to Nexen.

Nexen Tire offers the N’Fera AU7 in the US and Canada in 45 sizes ranging from 205/55R16 to 275/RR22.
