New electric SUV Skoda Enyaq Coupe iV with improved range

Skoda will launch a more efficient coupe SUV version of its electric Enyaq iV on January 31. Skoda called Enyaq Coupé iV has unveiled a sketch of the new car, which will adopt a sloping roofline and sportier stance for improved aerodynamics and thus 10 to 9 miles extra range compared to the standard Enyaq iV.
From this drawing, the front section is shared with the regular Enyaq, but the front apron – adopted from the Enyaq iV Sportline – is more aggressive than usual, in line with the coupé’s sportier approach.
The lower grille is deeper and houses the front license plate, while the car’s side vents are more angular. The main grille is body-colored and has a horizontal LED chase that joins the headlights, although this isn’t the same illuminated Crystal Face grille that was previously seen on the Enyaq iV.
The wheels are two-tone diamond-cut parts, similar to those on the Enyaq iV 80 Sportline, although we expect Skoda to offer unique designs with the Enyaq Coupe iV production vehicle.
The coupe’s sharp body lines are shared with the standard SUV, although a Founders Edition badge is visible on the front wing in the sketch. The standard Enyaq iV was sold in the form of the Founders Edition as a limited model, and the coupe version will follow.
The main topic of conversation, however, is the sportier roofline and the redesigned rear of the Enyaq Coupé iV. The new look brings the car at the expense of coupé SUV competitors such as the Volkswagen ID.5 and the Tesla Model Y, but at the expense of practicality; the coupe variant will have a 570 liter trunk, compared to 585 liters for the regular Enyaq. However, the new model will be more efficient than its more boxy brother, with a lower drag coefficient that allows for greater range when fully charged.
Under the skin, the Enyaq Coupé iV is based on the same MEB platform as the first electric SUV from Skoda and the VW ID.5. We’ve already driven the coupe in prototype form, and the new car will use the same battery and motor options as the standard Enyaq iV, starting with a 60, rear-wheel drive model powered by a 58 kWh battery (usable) Pack and offers 177 hp.
Above it sits the 80s version, which is also rear-wheel drive and equipped with a larger 77 kWh battery (usable) and has an output of 201 hp. This model will offer the longest claimed range, with an increase of up to 9 miles possible over the SUV variant, offering a total of around 340 miles for a fee.
The flagship of the 80x SportLine version receives a dual-motor setup for a combined 261 hp and 425 Nm of torque and offers a range of more than 512 miles.
Inside, the Enyaq Coupe iV will use the same cabin architecture as the SUV, with a 13-inch infotainment touchscreen and a 5.3-inch digital instrument panel. Each version also has a panoramic glass roof with heat-reflecting glass.
The Enyaq Coupe iV is expected to have a premium over the standard car when it launches, with prices starting at around £ 33,500.
