Louis L. Queen Sr., 81, of Morgantown, died at Mon Health Medical on Saturday, July 17, 2021
He was born on November 23, 1939 in Clarksburg to Corder and Eva Queen.
He graduated from Morgantown High School in the 1957 class. From 1958-61, he served in the US Army as a helicopter crew chief. He married his 60-year-old wife, Linda Bolyard Queen, on January 21, 1961 in Morgantown.
He started his professional career at Volkswagen Corp. in Maryland and then worked at Richter Volkwagen in Sabraton.
He was also Head of Human Resources at Kit Energy Corp. in Philippi, independent general contractor as well as master electrician and logistician at Nations Corp., a military subcontractor. He retired from the city of Morgantown as an enforcement officer.
He liked to do handicrafts, loved classic cars and was proud to have built his own house.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, where he sang in the choir, served as a trustee, and most recently as an elder. He was a member of the VFW.
In heaven he is reunited with his parents; a grandson, Brian; his mother-in-law, Eileen Bolyard; and two brothers-in-law, Dick Bolyard and Ray Bucklew.
He leaves his wife, Linda, to preserve his memory; a daughter, Lisa Kniceley and husband Barry; a son, Lee Queen and wife Pam; Grandson, Khrystine Kniceley, Kayla McCormick, and husband Nathan and Hannah Queen; and a great grandson, Milo McCormick. He is also survived by his sister Joan (Queen) Forbes and husband Bob; his sisters-in-law Jo Bucklew and Carla Bolyard; and several nieces and nephews whom he adored.
In addition to his family, he is met by his beloved cats Max and. missing
The family hired McCulla Funeral Home to make the arrangements. A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Instead of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or the First Christian Church.
