Fiat has some significant plans for the European market as it has planned to launch four new electric vehicles for the continent. Fiat will introduce a new supermini electric vehicle for the first time next year. Fiat’s new EVs will complement the company’s previous electric model, the 500. According to a report by Autocar, Fiat will receive significant investments under the Stellantis brand in the coming years. The designs of the automaker’s new electric vehicles have already been signed off.

It is suggested that the first electric vehicle, coming next year, will be available in combustion, hybrid and electric powertrains. It is expected to compete with Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Polo and Opel Corsa. Fiat boss Olivier Francois has said in the report that this electric vehicle will be Punto-sized but will not be called Punto. Fiat discontinued Punto in 2018. This electric vehicle is said to lead the automaker’s transition to zero-emission models in 2027.

Francois also said that Fiat aims to become the people’s Tesla by making electric vehicles available to everyone. “It is clear that we need to reduce the cost of electrification. We will be ready by 2027, but possibly sooner. It depends on the cost. I want us to be the first mass-market brand to be all-electric,” Francois added in the report. The other three EV models will come in the form of crossovers, and one of them will be called the Panda. This EV will succeed the original model in a simpler design.

Francois mentioned that in the electric form, the Panda model will be a little robust, simple and robust. “The Panda was iconic not because of its shape, but because of its philosophy and spirit, and we’re trying to capture that with a less reminiscent design,” added the Fiat boss.
