EPA wants to finalize stricter auto emissions standards

By Morgan Conley (Dec. 20, 2021, 6:45 p.m. EST) – The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced Monday that it is finalizing the augmented auto emissions standards and touting the new rule as “the most ambitious federal greenhouse gas emissions standards for” automobiles and cars light trucks ever. “

The EPA said in its announcement that the final rule applicable to cars and light trucks of model years 2023-2026 will offer “even greater net benefits and emissions reductions” than originally planned when the proposed rule was unveiled in August.
