DAGS press release: RESPONSES FROM THE COMMUNITY CORRECTIONAL CENTER OF OAHU TO THE REQUEST OF INTEREST DURING MARCH 12, 2021
HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Accounting and General Service (DAGS) has issued an RFI regarding plans to develop a new Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC). Responses to the RFI are due by 5 p.m. HST on March 12, 2021.
Companies in the design, construction, finance and facility maintenance sectors are encouraged to respond to the RFI, especially those experienced in carrying out alternative public infrastructure projects and using funding responsibilities. and / or private maintenance; have successful experience in social infrastructure of similar characteristics, size and / or complexity; and / or the resources available to engage in the delivery of a new OCCC and share the state’s vision for the project. Responses to the RFI will help the State of Hawaii determine its interest in a possible future market.
Shortly after the RFI’s publication on January 29, 2021, and to better educate potential respondents about the new OCCC, the DAGS hosted an informational webinar to review the instructions for responding to the RFI as well as to share information. on the need for a new OCCC, the purpose of issuing the RFI, as well as the timing and process for evaluating responses and subsequent follow-up activities.
Following the publication of the RFI, the DAGS received questions regarding the new OCCC and RFI and distributed the responses to potential respondents through the OCCC website.
The RFI and additional information relating to the project are available on the OCCC future plans website (http://dps.hawaii.gov/occc-future-plans/).
The RFI is not intended to initiate a solicitation for the development of the OCCC and does not represent a commitment by the State of Hawaii to solicit in the future. Responses to this RFI are not a prerequisite for participating in future solicitations and do not constitute a commitment to include responding companies in the later stages of the process. Responses to this RFI are the only method by which expressions of interest regarding the new OCCC will be considered.
