Body found in bank parking lot

Police are investigating the death of a person whose body was found on the premises of a bank branch in the city.
The body – believed to be a man’s – was found around 5:15 a.m. near the M&T Bank building at 149 Robinson Street on the city’s east side.
Patrol officers secured the area with yellow tape. The clothed corpse was between the bank office and the ATM that drove up.
The body apparently lay in the parking lot west of the CVS pharmacy for an extended period of time.
Officials interviewed local residents and identified surveillance cameras that may have been taping the area.
A Binghamton Police Department detective was not available to discuss the investigation.
A manager at M&T Bank did not want to say whether the branch opened as planned. She declined to comment on the police activities.
